"CW3R Al Price of the Ft. Lowell-Apache Chapter, Tucson, Arizona is shown presenting the overall winner of the Apache Drill Competition held in Tucson on December 13, 2008. The Marine JROTC Team is from Tuba City High School which is located in the northeast corner of the state. This is the 2nd year in a row that Tuba City has won the competition.
The drill competition is sponsored by the Flowing Wells High School JROTC and supported financially by the Chapter. There were 23 JROTC teams from around the state competing in this all-day affair. The JROTC teams represent Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. The Judges were from the University of Arizona ROTC, all branches of the Armed Forces Recruiting Stations, Reserve and National Guard units. The 2nd place award went to Greenway High School and the 3rd place award to Casa Grande High School. The winning team received the Geronimo sculpture which they keep for the year and then return it for the next competition. They also received a crystal trophy which is theirs to keep."
Due to the nature of the Christmas party, all new business is postponed until the next meeting.
