The Chapters’ JROTC medal for Distinguished Service is not approved
by the Institute of Heraldry under the provisions of AR 145-2,
Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program Organization,
Administration, Operation, and Support. CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti is
researching the process that needs to be followed to have our medal

Vincent Baiocchetti announced that an award has been named in his
honor by the Arlington Hall Chapter, USAWOA, for his untiring
devotion to the USAWOA.
Healthcare Update –

Travel to the AMM-2009:
request was made by CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti, last month, to pay for
his air fare expenses to the AMM-2009 in Salt Lake City, UT. After
further discussion, a motion was made by CW3R Michael Turner to
approve the air fare expenses. The motion was seconded by CW3R Al
Price and approved those members present.
Chapter Shirt Vendor
CW3R Al Price delivered the new shirts. CW3R Michael Turner
immediately adjourned to Men’s room and returned to model his new
shirt. The membership was pleased with the quality of the new

Annual Fort Lowell-Apache Golf Tournament – CW5R Vincent
Baiocchetti and CW4R Harold Lindamood provided a recap and after
action report for the golf tournament and associated finances.

Election of Officers for 2010 –
Vincent Baiocchetti announced the opening of nominations for the
Chapter Officers for the upcoming year. The Chapter elects a
President and Vice President. The remaining officers are appointed
by the President.
Possible New Meeting Location –
A suggestion to find a new, more centralized, meeting location was
suggested by CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti. The proposed location,
La Fuente Restaurant at
1749 N. Oracle Rd., on Miracle Mile Road between Speedway Blvd and
Grant Road, has a private room and is a
favorite for Mexican cuisine and mariachi entertainment. Further
discussion was tabled until the September meeting.
Annual Meeting of the Members, AMM-2011 -
Vincent Baiocchetti lead a discussion concerning the Fort
Lowell-Apache Chapters’ desires to host another AMM. The Fort
Lowell-Apache Chapter hosted the AMM-2005 in Tucson, AZ. After
considerable discussion, both for and against, the members present
approved the motion made by CW3R Michael Turner and seconded by CW3R
Al Price by show of hands vote with 11 Yea and 1 Nay. The vote was
requested to be listed in the meeting minutes.

Drill Meet –
2009 edition of the JROTC Drill Meet is scheduled for Saturday, 12
December 2009 at Flowing Wells High School. CW3 Ron James requested
that the Fort Lowell-Apache Chapter members begin getting ready to
be judges and administrative assistants for this year’s drill meet.
Annual Fort Lowell-Apache Christmas Gathering –
Christmas Gathering is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, 13 December
2009, at 1400 hours, at the home of CW3R Michael and Mary Turner.
Michael promised that the home addition and astronomical observatory
would be completed in time.
Arizona Silver Chapter Golf Tournament -
Vincent Baiocchetti reminded everyone that the Arizona Silver
Chapter Golf Tournament will be held in Naco on 12 September 2009
and that the Fort Lowell-Apache Chapter should participate.
