Meeting Minutes –
13 September 2010
Meeting called to order at 1801 hours by President CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti leading the Pledge of Allegiance. The President declared a quorum present. The meeting was held at Michelangelo’s Restorante Italiano.
Secretary's Report: CW3R Ron James
The minutes of the August 2010 meeting were presented previously to all members electronically. Motion made by CW3R Art Schmid to accept minutes as published, seconded by CW5R Lance Dickinson. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report, as of 31 August 2010: CW4R Harold Lindamood
Funds in the Checking Account:
Opening Balance 1 August 2010 $5,671.14
Ending Balance 31 August 2010 $5,671.14
A motion was made by CW3R Ed Blankschen to accept the Treasurer’s Report, subject to audit, and seconded by CW2R John Curtis. The motion passed.
President's Report: CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti
Clarification of meeting place: It will rotate between Cody’s Beef & Bean and Michelangelo’s Restorante Italiano.
Nomination of Officers for 2010-2011: The President declared the nominations open for President and Vice President. CW2 Lance Dickinson was nominated for President and accepted the nomination. CW2R John Curtis was nominated for a 2nd term as Vice President and accepted. Voting will take place at our next meeting.
Passed around photos of the new Southern AZ, VA Cemetery.
Vice-President's Report: CW2R John Curtis
Our current membership numbers stand at 35. Bob Day from Tucson, AZ, talked with the Benson Cemetery and provided paperwork to get Vet Remains to transfer them to the Vet Cemetery. This would give us a back door into the program and establish future procedures.
Unfinished Business: None.
CW5R Lance Dickinson reported on – Re: 501c(3), indicating he is understanding the process.
A motion to pay $500.00 to the Flowing Wells High School, JROTC to help defray the cost of trophies was made by CW3R Ed Blankschen seconded by CW3R Art Schmid. Motion Passed
Nancy James, from Casa de la Luz, briefed the members about their decision to provide a blanket and letter in recognition of Vets that are on Hospice Service. She asked for volunteers from our chapter to present the blankets, both CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti , and CW5R Lance Dickinson indicated they would be willing. CW3R Al Price and CW4R Harold Lindamood
had previously volunteered.
CW3R Ed Blankschen, offered his home for our annual Christmas Party, A motion to hold it on the 5th of December was made by CW3R Art Schmid and seconded by CW2R John Curtis. Motion Passed.
For The Good of the Order:
Birthday wishes go out to our Birthday folks for the month of September: Harold Lindamood, Ed Blankschen, Charles Mahoney, Bob Fogel, Roger Wilson, and Jeff Whitbeck.
There being no further business, CW3R Ed Blankschen made a motion that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by CW2R John Curtis. Motion passed at 1930 hours.
The next meeting of the Chapter will be held at Cody’s Beef & Bean, at 1800 hours on 11 October. Hope to see you there.
