Meeting Minutes –
11 July 2011
Meeting called to order at 1755 hours by President CW2R Lance Dickinson. CW4R Bob Ozier gave the invocation. The members rendered the Pledge of Allegiance. The President declared a quorum present. The meeting was held at the Metropolitan Grill.
The minutes of the June 2011 meeting were presented previously to all members electronically. No changes or objections were offered. The minutes stand.

A motion was made by CW3R Ron James to accept the Treasurer’s Report subject to audit and seconded by CW3R Gary Huggins. The motion passed.
Our reply letter to the IRS was sent June 15th. The letter provides our chapter's history of growing community involvement. Upon establishment as an authorized non-profit, we will file for tax exemption with state and local governments.
We have 39 members. 9 who are Life members. Welcome our newest member, WO1 Scott Kelly, 351L.
After the May internment of unclaimed veterans' cremains at SAVMC, Sierra Vista, the Missing In America Project (MIAP) chose to sever ties with the USAWOA, specifically our chapter. As they have more mobile and accessible veteran volunteers now available within Pima County, they choose to align themselves with other nationwide organizations. We will be notified of upcoming events for our choice in attendance.
1. Chapter 10th Year Anniversary: After extensive discussion, the Metropolitan Grill was reserved for November 12th at 6:00 pm. Choices of menu selection, cost, dress and guest speakers will presented at the August meeting.
2. Christmas Party: Once again, CW4R & Mrs. Ed and Leslie Blankschen have graciously offered their home for this member fellowship. The date is Sunday afternoon, December 11th. Details to follow.
1. JROTC medals: CW3R Ron James reported that there are now 5 high schools with Army JROTC programs in southern Arizona. Flowing Wells and Cholla H.S. in Tucson, Rio Rico H.S., Buena H.S. in Sierra Vista, and Tombstone H.S. After a thorough discussion, a motion was made by CW4R Lindamood to support all five with JROTC medals as recommended by their respective instructors. Seconded by CW3R James, the motion passed unanimously.
2. Election of Officers for 2012: The Chapter elects a President and Vice President. The remaining officers are appointed by the President. Recommendations are solicited.

Massing of the Colors: CW4R Ozier provided information concerning the ceremony. MOWW sponsors this event each year on Veterans Day weekend. This year it will be on Sunday, November 13th, 2:00 pm at the Tucson Womans Club, 6245 East Bellevue St. Our National and USAWOA flags will be carried by JROTC cadets. Attendance is encouraged.
CW4R Bob Ozier made a motion for adjournment, seconded by CW4R Lindamood. Motion passed at 1915 hours.
Our next meeting will be at 1800 hours on August 8th at Cody's Beef and Bean, 2744 East Fort Lowell.
