Meeting Minutes –
9 May 2011
Meeting called to order at 1802 hours by President CW2R Lance Dickinson leading the Pledge of Allegiance. The President declared a quorum present. The meeting was held at the Metropolitan Grill. CW4R Robert Ozier led the Invocation.
Secretary's Report: CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti
The minutes of the April 2011 meeting were presented previously to all members electronically. Motion made by CW3R Ed Blankschen to accept minutes as published, seconded by CW3R Al Price. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report, as of April 30, 2011: CW4R Harold Lindamood
Funds in the Checking Account:
Opening Balance 1 April 2011 $5,587.37
Ending Balance 30 April 2011 $2,357.74
A motion was made by CW3R Art Schmid to accept the Treasurer’s Report, subject to audit, and seconded by CW4R Robert Ozier . The motion passed.
President's Report: CW2R Lance Dickinson
The President reported that presentation of our Annual Scholarship Award and Distinguished Service Medals were presented to the Flowing Wells JROTC cadets at their Annual Awards’ Ceremony on April 13th by CW4R Bob Ozier.
The President reported that the Hospice Presentation with Casa de la Luz, is caught up at this time. We will be called as needed.
The President brought up the fact that Major Bob DeWitt is planning to upgrade the Rifle Team Marksmanship Program to the Precision Level. His team shot 1st in the state and 4th nationally. He is asking for donations to help pay for the new equipment and clothing that is part of the program. Discussion ensued and will be brought up later in the year when our funds are better known.
Vice-President's Report: CW2R John Curtis
No Report – CW2R Curtis is out of the country.
CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti reported that he had received a letter from the IRS which basically acknowledged receipt of our application and stated how and when we would be notified.
Applications in Groups 1 & 2 would receive a determination letter stating that we are exempt from Federal Income Tax, within 90 days. Applications in Group 3 would receive a response from an Exempt Organizational Specialist (work needs to be done).
On March 25th ,11:00a.m. at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Sierra Vista, CW3R Art Schmid,
CW4R Harold Lindamood, and CW3R Al Price attended the mass internment of the cremains of 16 veterans most recently deceased in Pima County. Dignitaries from Federal, State, and Local groups were in attendance. The President of MIAP presented a flag to CW3R Art Schmid which was presented to our President CW2R Lance Dickinson.
CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti, reported that the 10th Annual Golf Tournament is on for June 11th at the Tucson National Golf Resort. We are still waiting for more golfers to sign up and there is a need for our members to get out and talk to businesses about either buying a $50.00 Hole Sign or making a donation of gift certificates. He also asked that the next meeting be held on the 1st Monday in June, that being June 6th in order to organize for the golf tournament on Saturday, June 11th. The group agreed to meet on that date.
There was no New Business
There being no further business, CW3R Art Schmid made a motion that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by CW3R Al Price. Motion passed at 1902 hours.
The next meeting of the Chapter will be held at Cody’s Beef and Beans, at 1800 hours on 6 June 2011.
